Concern about Celine Dion: The situation is hardly getting any better
Celine Dion is fighting for better health. But the singer has a hard time. There is no suitable medicine for her illness.
Singer Celine Dion’s health is unlikely to improve. As her sister Claudette Dion said in an interview, it was difficult to find the right medication.
In December 2022, the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer announced that she had been diagnosed with the rare neurological condition Stiff Person Syndrome. In stressful situations, this leads to muscle cramps and makes it impossible to perform. Dion had initially postponed her “Courage World Tour”, on May 26 she canceled all outstanding concerts in Europe. During an interview with “Le Journal de Montreal”, Claudette Dion revealed that her famous sister’s health had hardly improved despite working with “the best researchers in this field”.
“It’s important to have hope”
“We can’t find any drugs that work, but it’s important to have hope,” said Claudette Dion. She continued: “I honestly think what she needs most is rest. She always does her best, she always tries to be the best and the best at her game.”
As “Page Six” reports, Dion’s other sister Linda has now moved into the villa in Las Vegas. The 64-year-old works there as a caretaker. “When I call her and she’s busy, I talk to my sister Linda who lives with her. I hear from her that she works hard,” explained Claudette Dion. “She listens to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.” The family still have “trust” that things will get better.
It was only in July that Claudette Dion said on the Canadian TV show “Bonsoir Bonsoir”: “I know that she works hard. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed and I’m glad that people are worried.” She continued: “We are confident that we can do it. Such a story cannot be.”
With over 330 million records sold, Celine Dion is one of the world’s most successful pop singers of all time. Her greatest successes include songs like “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Power of Loce” or “My Heart Will Go On”. The last song was the theme song for the movie “Titanic”.
