An Anti-Terrorism Court in Pakistan on Wednesday sentenced two cannibal brothers for 12 years rigorous imprison-ment.

Islamabad, June 11/Nationalturk: A Pakistani court on Wednesday sentenced two brothers, who were arrested in April for eating human flesh, for 12 years rigorous imprisonment.

The Anti-Terrorism Court in Sargodha district of Pakistan’s most populous Punjab province province announced the verdict today after finding them involved in eating human flesh.

Two brothers, Arif (35) and Farman (30) hailing from Darya Khan in Bhakkar district in Lahore were arrested in April this year for eating human flesh

Police arrested Arif when the head of a toddler was recovered from their home in Kahawar Kalan town near Darya Khan. “Arif confessed to having cooked and eaten the rest of the body, while his brother Farman managed to flee but was later apprehended as well.”

Police had said that the brothers had dug up and devoured bodies from the graveyard before they were finally caught.

Cannibal brothers were previously arrested in 2011

The brothers were previously arrested in April 2011 for eating human flesh.  They were found to have disinterred corpses in the local graveyard for the purpose of eating them.

The brothers were sentenced to two years imprisonment.  Since there has been no laws related to cannibalism in Pakistan, the brothers were convicted for “desecrating a grave” at that time.

Both Arif and Farman are married and have children but their wives have reportedly abandoned them.
