A two-year-old toddler has been killed by his family pit bull terriers after opening the garage door where the animals were being kept.
The incident which occurred in Concord, California, United States, has shocked the community after the toddler was savaged by the five pit bulls.
According to the police, Jacob Bisbee, somehow managed to open the door of the garage letting three of the the pit bulls out which immediately targeted the toddler.
Two of the other pit bulls who had been outside joined in the attack causing severe injuries to the 2-year-old.
Bisbee was taken to hospital but died later in hospital. All five dogs were put down.
The step grandfather of the toddler who owned the five savage dogs was later arrested on the suspicion of child endangerment and owning dangerous animals.
Police have said that they had no idea of what might have caused the attack on the toddler but the incident took place at around 8.45 am.
Hayashi who admitted that he was not at home at the time of the attack acknowledged that he had owned the five animals.
The police officer investigating the attack, Lieutenent Jim Lardieri, said: ‘The dogs were part of the household. As far as I know, they had them as pets.’
It was also said that the toddler’s grandmother and 19-year-old uncle were at home when the attack took place.
One of the neighbors living on the street of the attacked toddler had also said that the dogs had changed in the past few weeks and that one even had barked at her while she was washing her car, but once she told the dog to go, it went.
The attack has renewed calls to tighten laws regarding dangerous dogs in the US.

You really make it seem so easy together with your presentation however I find this topic to be really something that I believe I’d never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m having a look ahead in your subsequent submit, I’ll attempt to get the grasp of it!
i agree with maghan
all i can say is that i hope pitbulls dont get abondand were a pibull atack happens
once a pit bull was an Americans proud which was in much famylies and did they attack?a pit bull was not only a dog for dog fights he was a family member.I think the medias, your f.. silly loars and teenage niggers with guns did this thing.you distroed an apb as a dog and make him for a criminal..shame on you.and hov about the aspca?how much pitbulls they saved?
you should keep the owner in prison for a long time and kill those dogs, not all dogs in contry. If some one would come and try to kill my pitbull i would kill that person!hold on,dog owners!
To: Responsible pitbull owner….This breed is not only owned by “lower class America” but also by wealthy Americans….in any event, I do agree that we must look at the way these animals are raised and not just to blame the breed for the attacks. There was a time when if you owned a German Shepherd it was considered a risk. I have a smaller dog and I see owners of Labs that are very irresponsible and they are also quick to jump on a stranger and another dog. Please people, get a clue….would you just let your child run up to a stranger or someone elses dog? Catch a clue people.
First, you need to do some research to be as certain of facts as possible when it comes to inflammatory stories such as this where the media tends to make their own determination about attributes such as “savage.” If you look at news reports that are closer to the actual scene, it looks like 3 of the dogs were involved in the attack, 2 were being kept in the backyard, but all 5 were taken and later in the day destroyed. There are also reports that at least one of the dogs had been chained in the front yard to the point where UPS deliveries were no longer possible. If you look at the reasons why dogs bite, being chained for long periods is one of the determining factors – not breed, not even personality. None of the stories mention if the dogs were intact/used for breeding purposes – another determinant for biting, or if they were spayed or neutered or even what their genders were. And, another writer commented that we don’t have any idea if the dogs were socialized beyond their own pack. There is so much that humans should and must do to protect others from the possibility of their dogs harming them – especially children and the first thing is that you never allow children to be alone with dogs of any breed. However, I have rescued and raised pit bull type dogs for decades and even if I’d had a careless moment when a toddler were alone with a couple of my dogs, there would not have been the concern for this outcome, so there is more to this story than the public is being told.
To: Responsible pitbull owner – I truly do hope that you are a responsible owner, you are an ignorant and rude author for your comment “Unfortunately these dogs are popular in lower class America where being feared is a good thing.” That is a very prejudiced remark because I don’t think that Michael Vick would be considered lower class, but he’s a 2-legged monster who exploited this breed along with torturing and killing them unnecessarily. Some of the really wonderful people who took surviving dogs from his kennel and gave them a new start at life, provided them with meaningful jobs and good families might be considered lower class by some just because of their financial standing, but they are rich in their ability to give love and support. I’m a disabled senior who now has to live on a very limited budget, but I’m still able to care for the pit bulls who work with me as my Service Dogs as well as any other person. My dogs are not only well loved in my home, but well socialized and loved within the community. As for sheryl and the fact that you STILL believe in that tired myth that any breed of dog eventually “turns” and becomes a vicious animal – oh my goodness! How old are you? These people who have created dangerous dogs are, of course, going to tell the police and the media that they were just nice family pets, but the deeds tell the truth of the matter. When you read that dogs have been running loose, have been chained and scare away delivery people, and then the ultimate act – how can anyone be conned into believing there was no warning, no signs? Those of us who truly do have family pit bulls know our dogs – I’ve lived with those from puppies through their entire lives where they have been nothing but loving, loyal companions, and no, in those final, sad moments as I bid them farewell and thanked them for the wonderful years of joy & love, they did not turn on me! If you know anything about Service Dogs then you should know the strict training and the high expectations of behavior that they must meet. My current Service Dog is my second and the second pit bull I’ve successfully used as a Service Dog. Not only do I appreciate how they care for me, but the community grows to love them and enjoy their presence in stores, restaurants, and at church. It is just as unfair & ignorant to make sweeping generalizations about animals as it is about people. We do know what happens when certain behaviors are followed and when people abuse, torture, and drug dogs – it’s not good for anyone, but it’s not because of the breed of dog nor even the class of people – it’s how the people choose to behave – horribly.
“savage dogs” how about dogs who were not being watched and controlled. Dogs will be dogs, and both the dogs and the child should have been watched more closely.
WOW!! put a lable on them again…where are the adults? could any big dog have done the same?
May God Bless The Child and Family. The blame is clearly on the childs environment. I pray the law punish all those invoved. At least 25 years to life in prison for their actions.
This is another example how people neglect and abuse animals and then the animals suffer when they do the natural thing. WHY IN GOD’S NAME DID THEY HAVE FIVE HIGH-ENERGY DOGS COOPED UP IN A GARAGE? Any high energy breed, whether a pit or a miniature pinscher, will attack if kept in confined spaces most of the time because this treatment is neglectful and makes the animals crazy. Recent research shows that chihuahuas, Jack Russell Terriers, and other small breeds bite more often than pits, and pits are very intelligent, so much more damaged by cruelty than some other breeds. But people continue to buy pits for protection, abuse and neglect them, and then “euthanize” them when they go crazy from the abuse. Meanwhile false reporting about how pits are “more aggressive” than other dogs (instead of more abused, which is the true story – and ANY abused animal will attack) mean that thousands of these animals are neglected, abandoned, and killed due to humans stupidity. The guardians of that kid should be put in jail, and people who keep animals in such conditions should also be jailed, whether or not they attack. And the people who didn’t report the family for animal abuse should count themselves among the guilty in the death of six innocent organisms – one human and five dogs.
I feel very sorry for the toddler, but not for the rest of the family. I am always hoping that if dogs attack somebody it should be somebody out of the owner family. So now they paid a high price!
I can’t imagine why anyone would want or own a breed of any animal that has proven to eventually turn on humans or attack. This guy will have to live knowing he was ultimately responsible for his grandsons death because of a STATUS issue. Seems it makes some people feel bigger and better of themself to own a Power Status dog!
I understand and respect the strength that this breed posseses, but I also understand the responsibility of owning one of these dogs. Before the media staples the word “savage” on this breed we need to as a close look at he people who own the dogs. Unfortunately these dogs are popular in lower class America where being feared is a good thing. People have exploited his breed for the money, they fight these dogs for money, are bread for money and in many cases neglected. I understand they are powerful animals, but we as humans need to start taking more responsibility for them. Why were 5 dogs locked in a garage in he middle of summer? Were these dogs socialized with other dogs outside of there pack? Who was watching this child? It just upsets me that we are so quick to call these animals monsters. If you show these animals, like many other animals, love and respect they will show you the same.
