Bernd Schuster who has managed several teams in Spain
Beşiktaş aim to win the Turkish Super League and want to do well in the UEFA Europa League with Bernd Schuster who has managed several teams in Spain, Ukraine and Germany, including Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Beşiktaş was in the midst of a controversy over Mustafa Denizli, who handed the championship to the Istanbul side in the 2008-2009 season, over alleged rows between the Beşiktaş chairman Yıldırım Demirören and Denizli over players not receiving payments.
It was also alleged previously that, Beşiktaş and Schuster were engaged in talks before Denizli left the club after a largely unsuccessful season.
Demirören is trying desperately to win the support of the Beşiktaş fans notably the world famous Çarşı group who were very unhappy with the chairman due to bad transfers and bad results by Beşiktaş.
According to reports, Schuster has signed a two year deal which will earn him 2.5 million Euros a year.
Schuster is expected to arrive in Istanbul on Friday.
This will be the 7th manager Demirören will work with at Beşiktaş since being Chairman of the club in 2004.
The managers Demirören has worked with in the past 6 years as chairman of the club are Vicente Del Bosque, Rıza Çalımbay, Mehmet Ekşi, Jean Tigana, Ertuğrul Sağlam, Mustafa Denizli and now Bernd Schuster.
