Turkey Presidental Election:At times, there was a nationwide Twitter-lock
Shortly before the Constitutional Court had lifted a nationwide Twitter lock, which had been adopted by Erdogan’s government. Because of the short message service is also opposition to organizing protests, various authoritarian governments try to tackle it. In Russia, about the censorship authority holds a lock on Twitter “practically inevitable”.
For two years, Twitter has a system that can be locked with the specific users in specific countries. In Germany, for example, the account of a neo-Nazi group has been made invisible. Twitter wants to keep to the respective national laws to be not completely locked out.
Countries barrier can, however, relatively easy to circumvent. Who sends its Internet connection with another country, through a proxy or a VPN connection, the accounts can see anyway. (This also works the other way around, so that you can look at the Internet from a Turkish perspective.)
The operators of @ fuatavni have also pointed out some weeks ago to an alternative account: fuatavnifuat on @ weitergetwittert is, at least until now.
