Bayern Munich looking for goalkeeper
After the World Cup is before the start of the second half of the season.
Bayern probably made a decision about his successor after Neuer’s failure.
The German record champions have to do without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the second half of the season because he injured himself while ski touring and had to have an operation (read more about this here). So far it has not been clear whether FC Bayern wants to rely on the previous number two, Sven Ulreich, as the regular keeper for the rest of the season. Now, according to the “Bild” newspaper, the decision is said to have been made.
And against Ulreich. Accordingly, those responsible for coach Julian Nagelsmann want to retrofit the position of the goalkeeper. However, it is not yet clear who will be committed. Since the Neuer failure became known, there has been speculation about a return from Alexander Nübel. The 26-year-old joined AS Monaco on loan in July last year (until June 2023). According to the contractual agreement, he would not return until next year.
As the newspaper continues to write, a decision regarding Nübel has not yet been made. Bayern should have Gladbach’s Yann Sommer on the list, whose contract with the league competitor expires at the end of the season. As is Keylor Navas, who is under contract with Paris St. Germain.
However, the keeper only plays a limited role in world champion Lionel Messi’s club. He is currently number two behind Gianluigi Donnarumma. It is now said that a goalkeeper should come. Who it will be, not yet.
Speculations about the future: That is the status of Manuel Neuer
