With Barcelona beating Xerez in the weekend with a convincing 3-1 considering both the Argentinian wizard Lionel Messi and Pique not in the first eleven, the pressure was on Real Madrid to match Barcelona’s 3 precious points.
Barcelona’s Jeffren opened the score line on the 14th minute with a nice slick move that even Messi would be proud of. Ibrahimovic was then on show to set up Thierry Henry to score Barcelona’s second on the 24th minute.
Xerex then pulled one back just 2 minutes after Henry’s second to make it 2-1. But Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on show again to score Barcelona’s third and his first goal of the match to make it 3-1.
The pressure was on Real Madrid who matched their bitter rivals with a less convincing win against Real Zaragoza. Raul who had a rear start for the Real outfit opened the score on the 50th minute before Zaragoza’s Adrian Colunga equalised on the 61st minute.
Then Kaka came to play and scored his first goal since coming back from injury and made it 2-1 on the 82nd minute.
