Bafetimbi Gomis announces retirement

Bafetimbi Gomis, who played for Galatasaray in Türkiye for two terms, has ended his football career at the age of 39.

Bafetimbi Gomis, who played for Galatasaray in the Super League for two different terms, has quit football.

The 39-year-old French striker, who last played for Japanese representative Kawasaki Frontale, has ended his professional football career.

Gomis, who started his career in 2004 with the Saint-Etienne team where he was trained in the youth academy, later played for Troyes, Olympique Lyon, Swansea City, Olympique Marseille, Galatasaray, Al-Hilal and Kawasaki Frontale.

The French player, who won the Super League championship twice with the red-yellow jersey, also became the top scorer once.

The French striker also scored 51 goals and made 9 assists in 86 matches with the Galatasaray jersey.

Gomis scored 353 goals in 785 matches throughout his career.

Gomis, who also played for the French National Team in 12 matches and scored 3 goals, won a total of 13 trophies in his career.
