Ayda Field and Robbie Williams in Sydney
Sydney’s celebrity welcome mat was rolled out again yesterday for British pop superstar Robbie Williams and his girlfriend Ayda Field.
The pair remained tightlipped as they were ushered through the VIP exit at Sydney’s International Airport before heading to their Harbourside hotel to relax for two days.
Perhaps they may even scope out potential new addresses after Field had a premonition that the loved-up couple would resettle here.
“I’m thinking of coming down there. I have been looking for places out in the Outback, maybe a farm,” Williams said before the release of his latest hit record Reality Killed The Video Star.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Australian charts last week, spearheaded by the single Bodies – which signalled his return to the epic pop form which made him a stadium superstar here.
After enjoying some downtime with the “missus”, Williams will begin his campaign to reintroduce himself to Australian fans, kicking off with an intimate gig at the Metro Theatre. And then it’s all about the ARIA Awards, with Williams announced as this year’s marquee act.
