James Cameron is getting top honors from the Hollywood Foreign Press.
James Cameron’s film “Avatar” was named Best Motion Picture – Drama at the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards Sunday night.
It was one of two nods for the noted film, which also earned Cameron the award for Best Director – Motion Picture.
Other multiple honorees include “Crazy Heart,” for which star Jeff Bridges was recognized with Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.
T Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham’s theme from “Crazy Heart,” “The Weary Kind,” was also awarded.
Two-time winner “Up” was praised as Best Animated Feature, while composer Michael Giacchino has a Golden Globe for his score to the film.
Big winners on the TV side include Showtime’s “Dexter,” for which actors Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow each received their first Golden Globe awards.
HBO’s “Grey Gardens” was named Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, and its star Drew Barrymore also captured her first Golden Globe for her efforts on the project.
AMC’s “Mad Men” remains a critics’ favorite, earning its second consecutive Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama, while the new Fox series “Glee” is making an impression as the Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
Alec Baldwin received his third Golden Globe for his starring role on NBC’s “30 Rock.” Other TV winners include Kevin Bacon, Chloe Sevigny, Julianna Margulies, and Toni Collette, who are all celebrating their first Golden Globe wins.
Other movie honors are going to “The Hangover,” which was named the Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
