Assassination Attempt to Turkish politician, Deniz Baykal
Turkey Istanbul – Allegations of an assassination attempt to the leader of the Republican People’s Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP)) in Turkey has had a shock effect in the country.
Just a day after an alleged sex tape emerged in the media of the 71-year-old politician, it was announced by the General Secretary of the Republican People’s Party, Onder Sav, that the Istanbul Police Department had received a tip-off, of an assassination attempt to Deniz Baykal.
The tip-off was announced by Sav during a meeting of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) central executive council where several media channels and newspapers were present.
Sav said “Without adding any words, I am about to announce to you (Media and public) of a tip-off which the Organized Crime Unit of the Istanbul Police Department has received,
“Mustafa Sarigul, the Sisli (Borough in Istanbul) mayor has given a shoot order for Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader, Deniz Baykal,
“Sarigul, contacted Mithat Yılmaz, the leader of a criminal organization through Osman Sevket, the Sisli Borough Deputy Mayor and asked Yilmaz to shoot Baykal from both his knees.”
Sav continued “$300,000 cash of unknown origin was cashed out from the Sisli Borough’s cash box and taken to an address which is said to be a bogus company belonging to Mithat Yılmaz and given to the crime boss, by Osman Şevket Aslan.”
“At the end of the job, $450,000 more was going to be given, making the cost of the assassination attempt $750,000. Both Osman Şevket Aslan and Mithat Yılmaz communicated with encrypted phones when they could not speak face to face”
According to Sav, the assassination attempt was going to be on 13 April, 2010, to prevent Baykal from having a meeting with member of the European Commission, Stefan Füle, which was going to be at 18.30 the very same day.
Sav even went as far as naming the men in which, Mithat Yılmaz, was going to use in the assassination attempt.
However due to unknown reasons the assassination attempt to Baykal was cancelled.
The Chief of the Istanbul Police department, Huseyin Capkin has also confirmed that a tip-off had been received of the assassination attempt but no arrests were made.
This is the second shocking news which has emerged on Baykal in as many days.
Mustafa Sarıgül was a former Republican People’s Party (CHP) member and won the Sisli Borough constituency under the party in 2004 with a 60% majority. This gave Sarigul confidence and ran to be the Republican People’s Party’s leader which he lost to Deniz Baykal in 2005.
That very same year Sarigul was expelled from the Republican People’s Party for turning the “general assembly into an uproar scene”.
Mustafa Sarıgül has since denied the allegations saying it is absurdness by a mad man.

Interesting plot. Should be ideal for the Hollywood writers! Then again this sort of thing can happen in Bollywood too.
