A white couple in the United States were found guilty by the federal court in launching a racially motivated attack on an Indian couple.

Joseph Silva(56) and wife Georgia(52) have been convicted for attacking an Indian couple after screaming racial abuse at Vishal Wadhwa and his wife on a Lake Tahoe beach in Jul 2007.

Vishal Wadhwa was about to call the police when the abuse turned physical.

Mr Wadhwa suffered from broken bones to his face after receiving several blows to his head and face. The Indian man still suffers from sensing and focusing complications to due the severity of the attack.

The Silva’s were found guilty by the on Thursday , Mar 11. Mr Silva was sentenced to one year imprisonment while Mrs Silva got six months’ jail term.
