Harried passengers bemoan delays and cancellations of their flights as over 600 Air India pilots go on a strike from midnight Tuesday (Apr’26).
The passengers are having a tough time as they are not getting proper information regarding the cancellation of flights.
“There is no information, they should at least inform us that there is a strike. I got up early in the morning and came here now they are saying flight is cancelled. We really don’t know what to do,” said, K Wasan, passenger.
As the strike was called all of a sudden the passengers are in a fix as they don’t know what to do because they are given an information on when the flights would resume. “They gave us no information but we read in the newspaper that there is going to be strike. But when we asked them they did not tell us that the flights would be cancelled or delayed. They said if the crew comes then the flight will take off but they cannot give a definite answer,” said, passenger.
Although, officials say that all efforts are being made to run the operations in a normal and smooth manner, according to Air India executives.
The customer care officials have been advised to keep the esteemed passengers informed of changes in flight schedule in order to minimize any inconvenience. But the passengers are not getting correct information.“There is no clear information whether the flights will be cancelled, the officials in the counter are saying that when confirmation comes people will be informed,” added, Tirpatpal Singh, passenger.
As 600 Air India pilots have gone on a strike to press for their demands which in turn has badly hit the schedule of passengers.
