The armed forces of the East African Community (EAC) and Us Military African branch, the U.S. Africa Command (Africom) will hold six days of joint military drills this week in Chukwani, Zanzibar.

The purpose of the Natural Fire 1 drills held by EAC and Africom is to strengthen the ability of EAC member countries to respond as swiftl y as possible to complex security threats, according to military sources quoted by African news agencies.

American Military active in Zanzibar

AngolaPress News Agency stated Zanzibar expected officials more than 300 troops from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania participating for the joint military drills.
