Actress Pat Carroll dies on anniversary of her son’s death
Sad news from Hollywood: Pat Carroll has passed away.
Pat Carroll family must now mourn two losses on the day of her death.
She was a successful actress and comedian, was a guest on various TV shows and received both an Emmy and a Grammy award. Pat Carroll has died at the age of 95, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Her son also died on July 30
As her daughter Kerry Karsian announced, she died last Saturday at her home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts from complications of pneumonia. On that day 13 years ago, the family had to cope with another loss: Carroll’s son Sean Karsian died in 2009 at the age of 52. The cause of death is not publicly known to this day.
Carroll has been a fixture in show business for decades. In the 1950s, for example, she was part of the sketch comedy format “Caesar’s Hour”, for which she won an Emmy.
The entire list of their commitments is long. To name a small selection: “The Danny Thomas Show”, “She’s the Sheriff”, “Laverne & Shirley”, “With Six You Get Eggroll”.
Success as a voice actress
She also worked as a dubbing artist for the first time in the 1960s, but it wasn’t until around 20 years later that this career path really took off. Probably her best-known voice acting role: Ursula in the 1989 film The Little Mermaid. “It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to do a Disney film,” she once explained.
Carroll was married to Lee Karsian from 1955 to 1976. During this time they became parents of three children. In addition to son Sean and daughter Kerry, who works as a casting director, the ex-couple also has daughter Tara, who is an actress.
