The last £6.99 policy meets the expenses of up to £3,000 in the condition of disruption to air travel due to the Iceland volcanic eruptions.
Gatwick and Southampton centred airline company Flybe is now offering “Volcanic Ash Insurance” to its customers.
The new independent insurance policy offers many extras such as hold baggage and selection of the sitting place.
The insurance is now available on bookings made between April 28 and May 10. It costs £6.99 in return of the booking and is assured by the airline’s travel insurance partner, Chartis.
Customers whose flights are cancelled or delayed for more than 1 one day due to volcanic ash can demand about £2,000 per person from the company to pay for vacation expenses provided that they hold the proof of payments, bills and receipts, etc.
The policy will also pay up to £150 per person per day to involuntary accommodation and travel expenses for repatriation to the UK in case of a compulsory situation. The maximum payout is about £1,050 per person.
