Mbappe describes allegations as “fake news” – lawyer announces legal action

On social media, Mbappe commented on a report in the Swedish newspaper “Aftonbladet” and described it as “fake news”. Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, the 25-year-old’s legal representative, announced to the news agency “AFP” that she would take legal action against the reporting.

“Today, a new defamatory rumor is circulating on the Internet, originating from the Swedish newspaper ‘Aftonbladet’. These allegations are false and irresponsible, and their dissemination is unacceptable. In order to put an end to this methodical destruction of Kylian Mbappe’s image, all necessary legal steps will be taken to uncover the truth and prosecute all persons or media involved in the bullying and spreading of the news,” it said in a statement.

In his statement on social media, Mbappe also expressed the suspicion that his former club Paris Saint-Germain could also have something to do with the case. He wrote: “It has become so predictable. The day before the hearing – how coincidental, right?”
