Brigitte Macron and Queen Camilla in partner looks
Colorful interplay. At the state banquet, Brigitte Macron and Queen Camilla appeared in perfectly coordinated looks.
Queen Camilla and King Charles have been in France since Wednesday. The British royals are making up for their three-day state visit.
The couple were originally invited in March to celebrate the friendship between France and Great Britain. However, President Emmanuel Macron had to postpone the meeting due to unrest in his own country. Now the time had come.
The highlight of the first day was the state banquet in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors at Versailles Palace. Before dinner, the main characters, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla posed together on the red carpet. Hard to miss: The foursome’s outfits were perfectly coordinated.
Charles and Macron appeared in the classic black suit with a white shirt and black bow tie. The two women chose long robes in dark blue. Brigitte Macron’s color matched Queen Camilla’s perfectly. The latter combined a long dress with a cape of the same length. When it threatened to slip off her shoulder, she got help from the president’s wife. The 70-year-old straightened Camilla’s cloak. A nice gesture.
Of course, the state banquet not only looked pretty, but also served at a high level. The 180 invited guests, including stars such as Mick Jagger and his girlfriend, who is 44 years his junior, were cooked for by star chefs Yannick Alléno and Anne-Sophie Pic. Pastry chef Pierre Hermé was responsible for pastries.
King Charles had these two dishes removed from his diet
Charles is said to have still had something to complain about, in advance. The 74-year-old allegedly removed two dishes from the menu. On the one hand, he didn’t want foie gras at the banquet for animal welfare reasons, as the Daily Mail reported.
On the other hand, the British monarch decided against an asparagus dish. The reasoning is simple but understandable. The end of September is simply not asparagus time.
