Reports are coming in of a terrorist attack on a police station in the district of Gercüş, Batman province, Turkey.

According to officials a gendarmerie officer (rural police) was killed and two others were injured in the attack which took place around 22:00 on Tuesday.
An official who declined to be name told the NationalTurk that the police station was fired on with long distance weapons.
Süleyman Tekgül, a gendarmerie officer guarding the police station, died in the attack which took place at the Vergili village in Gercüş.
The injured soldiers were taken to Diyarbakır military hospital to be treated for their wounds.
The Turkish military have started an operation to capture the terrorists who carried out the attack, suspected of being PKK militants.
