The “Dinner Date” by Mats Hummels and Céline Bethmann has occupied the media for a few days. But as suddenly as the acquaintance of the two became public, the interest seems to have evaporated quickly.

It all started with a photo of meat and potatoes on Instagram. “Dinner Date” wrote the GNTM winner from 2017, Céline Bethmann, 23, about the recording and linked professional footballer Mats Hummels, 33. A few days later, the model then revealed that the athlete was currently “dating”.

Since then, the headlines about Mats Hummels’ love life have been piling up. The reason: The 33-year-old has actually been married to Cathy Hummels, 34, for seven years, but they have skilfully ignored the rumors of separation in recent months. Even when it was reported in October last year that Mats was said to have been dating table tennis player Lisa Straube from Dortmund, the couple made no comment.

How the marriage of Mats and Cathy is, however, was made public by Celine Bethmann. The model published a private message from the athlete, in which he clearly confirmed that he was single. As the chat continued, it also became clear that Mats and Céline want to meet again. But this plan could now have burst: The BVB star and the model no longer follow each other on Instagram – in these times an important indication of how the relationship between two people is. What exactly is going on between the two is so far uncertain. While Céline has been increasingly reluctant to make statements about her love life since her big Instagram appearance in recent days, Mats made it clear on Twitter how much he was amused by the comments about his supposed relationship chaos.

Cathy Hummels is quick-witted

And what does Cathy Hummels do? The entrepreneur appeared aggressive shortly after her husband’s “dinner date”. “Tonight I have a dinner date with Ludwig. There is no meat and potatoes, but a vegan lasagna a la Mama,” wrote Hummels on a photo in which she poses in a bikini. Shortly thereafter, she shared three intimate family photos with Mats and Ludwig, 4, and once again made it clear that their son comes first. When asked by GALA, the 34-year-old did not want to comment on what had happened in the last few days.
