UN: At least 25 civilians killed in Ukraine

The United Nations estimates that at least 25 civilians have been killed and at least 127 wounded in shelling and airstrikes in Ukraine.

The UN also notes that this estimate of the number of dead and wounded may be greatly underestimated due to lack of information, and the actual number of victims of hostilities may be higher.

In addition, at least 100,000 people have been left homeless after being forced to flee their homes or flee Ukraine to neighboring countries, the United Nations said.

Emergency services said a boy was killed in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region after shelling struck an apartment building.

Ukraine’s military on Thursday said it had destroyed four Russian tanks on a road near Kharkiv, killed 50 troops near a town in the Luhansk region and downed six Russian warplanes elsewhere in the east.

Ukraine also said a military plane with 14 people on board crashed south of Kyiv with officials still determining how many people died, while a transport plane crashed in Russia killing the crew.
