Gunman shot while trying to enter Ukrainian Embassy in Istanbul
According to the Turkish media a security guard shot and killed a possible suicide bomber at the Ukrainian consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday a bomb was noticed on the gunman.
Images received from local television crews showed police cordoning off streets in the Florya area, which is located near the Istanbul International Airport, which is also the country’s busiest airport.
According to the Turkish media, the man who was carrying a gun and a bomb was shot and wounded at around 9am local time while trying to enter the Ukrainian Embassy. It is said that the man was taken to the hospital to be treated for his wounds but later died.
According to the Istanbul Governor, Muammer Guler, the man who’s nationality is unknown had a personal agenda and the incident was not politically motivated.
