Army insurgency going on in Indian Kashmir from 1989

Armed insurgency has been going on in Indian Kashmir since 1989 when youth took to guns against Indian rule in the region. The separatists and civil society groups say over 0.1 million people have died in the violence so far. However,  the government has been saying that only 40000 people have died in the over two decade long violence in the region.

India has been accusing Pakistan of waging proxy war in Indian Kashmir by providing arms training to militants to foment insurgency in the region. However, Pakistan has been denying the charge, saying it is only providing moral and diplomatic support to people of Kashmir in their ‘indigenous struggle’ for freedom from Indian rule.

Bir Yorum

  1. How hard is it for the Indian army to kill the militants. There is no question about justice, P.A.K.I.S.T.A.N. (acronym)to me is living in a house made of glass stones. The Indian army should really get serious and kill every one in the partition area before they murder the innocent Indians that remain in India, after all over 70,000 Indians have died already what more proof does India need to start retaliation?
