Horrendous injury to Aaron Ramsey just two years after Eduardo leg break
Arsene Wenger was furious yesterday after the challenge that left Aaron Ramsey the 19-year-old Welsh star with a broken leg.
The game that saw Arsenal win 3-1 was marred by the young stars horrendous injury.
The midfielder was seriously hurt with the tackle by Ryan Shawcross, who was so badly effected by his own challenge that he left the field in tears.
22-year-old Ryan Shawcross was comforted by his family and team mates though his moral must have been uplifted by the shock call-up to the England squad for the Egypt friendly
Arsenal boss Wenger said “The tackle was horrendous. It is unacceptable,”.
“And please spare me the article tomorrow that says Shawcross is not like that – I heard the same when Eduardo was badly injured.
A statement on the official Arsenal website read. “During yesterday’s match against Stoke City, Aaron Ramsey sustained fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Yesterday evening he underwent surgery,”
“The operation successfully reduced the fractures and whilst it is too soon to state an exact timescale for recovery, Aaron will certainly miss the remainder of this season.
“Our thoughts are with Aaron at this time and everyone at the club wishes him all the best in making as speedy a return to action as possible.”
