China has executed a top official for raping 11 underage girls in country Henan province.

Beijing, June 19/Nationalturk- China has executed a top official for raping 11 underage girls in country Henan province, sending a strong signal that people involved in crimes against girls won’t be spared.

“Li Xingong, former deputy secretary general of the Yongcheng city committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in central China’s Henan Province was executed on Tuesday,” China state news agency Xinhua reported.

Xingong was found guilty of raping 11 underage girls in Henan province in 2011. The Henan Provincial Higher People’s Court has confirmed that  Xingong was executed yesterday.

Officials said Xingong was arrested in May 2012 on charges of raping several adolescent girls starting in 2011.

After the trial, Shangqiu City Intermediate People’s Court sentenced him to death for raping the adolescents. The court snatched his political rights for life.

He filed an appeal but the execution was approved by the Supreme People’s Court.

Top CPC official faces trial

The trial of a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official alleged involved in a sex tape scandal opened in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday.

The 55-year-old Lei Zhengfu, former secretary of Chongqing’s Beibei District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), had been dismissed from his post and placed under judicial investigation.

He was found to have allegedly appeared in a sex tape that was posted online last November.

He was subsequently removed from his official post and detained by police on Feb. 1 this year. In early May, he was also expelled from the CPC.
