A helicopter was caught on camera going out of control and eventually crashing in Brazil/Sao Paulo.

The incident in which the pilot was killed and a cameraman seriously injured was caught on camera by a second helicopter flying near by while filming a police car chase.

The pilot has been hailed as a hero for managing to avoid mass casualties.

The TV helicopter crashed near the track of Sao Paulo’s Jockey Club horse racing ground.

The crash happened near during peak morning rush hour just a few hundred metres from one of the Brazilian city’s busiest motorways.

Air force Lt. Col. Ricardo Beltran Crespo told a local paper: “The pilot was a hero because he was able to take the helicopter to a clear area, which is not something easy to do in Sao Paulo.”

Brazil’s air force said it was the third helicopter crash this year in Sao Paulo, which is home to one of the world’s bigger fleets in large part due to its horrendous traffic jams.
