Syria Death Toll today : 44 people slain in Syria air strike / Breaking News
Syrian fighter jets on Thursday organized an air strike to the rebel-held town of Maaret al-Numan, blasting at least 44 people, according to rescue workers, adding urgency to calls for a truce by peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.
Antakya / NationalTurk – At least 44 people were killed in an air strike on Thursday in the rebel-held town of Maaret al-Numan, rescue workers told an AFP journalist at the scene.
“We have recovered 44 corpses from under the rubble,” one rescue worker said. A medic had earlier told AFP that at least 20 people were killed and 30 were missing.
According to the rescue worker, the Syrian air force’s bombs destroyed two residential buildings and a mosque, where many women and children were taking refuge.
But we as NationalTurk cannot approve the truth of these reports, since the western media try its best to manipulate news from Syria to focus the attention on Syria. The following paraghraphs are from an AFP reporter, sı these can be lies or exaggerated.
A number of children were reported to be among those killed when warplanes bombed an apartment block in the strategic northwestern town, which was captured by rebel fighters on October 9 in their push to create a buffer zone along the Turkish border.
Horror scenes in Syria’s Maaret al-Numan : Children cleaced in half and decapitated in Syrian air strike ?
An AFP reporter at the scene of air strike states one child was decapitated while the body of a second, still on his bicycle, was pulled from the rubble.
With fighting raging across Syrian flashpoints, Damascus declared that Brahimi would travel to Damascus on Saturday on the last leg of a regional tour aimed at securing a ceasefire during a Muslim holiday next week.
Brahimi, the UN-Arab League special envoy to Syria, said in Lebanon on Wednesday that the crisis risks setting the region ‘ablaze’.
