Besiktas & Deron Williams thrash opponent in Turkish League Debut
All-Star point guard Deron Williams of Besiktas Istanbul Basketball Team saw a victory in his debut game in Turkish Basketball League.
Istanbul / NationalTurk – Beşiktaş Milangaz beat Bandırma Kırmızı at home by 38 points, 107-69, made a great start to the Beko Turkish Basketball League on Sunday.
The first victory came mainly due to the performances of Besiktas players from overseas. Marcelus Kemp from Neveda led the Istanbul club with 27 points and ex Temple guard/forward David Hawkins chipped in 22 points, four rebounds and four assists in his first league game with Besiktas jersey.
The Istanbul club’s star signing, the highest paid NBA player in Europe, All-Star guard Deron Williams, put on a mediocre performance with 11 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Semih Erden, who also joined Beşiktaş from Cleveland Cavaliers due to the ongoing players boycott, scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Deron Williams also saw his first technical from Turkish officials after arguing over a faul he commited and was benched for the most part of the second half.
Games on Oct. 15 showed favorite sides did not have many problems against the minnows. Anadolu Efes won 89-53 at Erdemir away and Galatasaray Medikal Park hoisted a 27-point victory against Olin Edirne 71-98 with its new singnings. Defending champs Fenerbahçe Ülker beat a woeful Trabzonspor 88-63 at home and Mersin BB lost 61-72 at home to Tofaş.
New signing Sasha Vujacic led Anadolu Efes in scoring with 18 points with a perfect 100 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line. Esteban Hernandez from Uruguay chipped in 17 points and five rebounds while another new signing from NBA, Ersan İlyasova, scored 10 points.
