Sarkozy : Crimes against Humanity in Libya ?
Two prominent French lawyers plan to bring French President Nicolas Sarkozy to court for crimes against humanity over the NATO-led military campaign in Libya.
Ibrahim Boukhzam, a representative of the Libyan justice system in Tripoli informed that lawyers Roland Dumas and Jacques Verges stated they were willing to sue Nicolas Sarkozy on behalf of the victims of NATO bombings and initiated legal proceedings in the French courts.
NATO & Sarkozy failed in their mission to protect civilians
Roland Dumas, a former socialist foreign minister, explained he was astonished when he realized that the mission of NATO aimed at protecting civilians was actually murdering them.
Jacques Verges, whose past clients include Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie and drug patron Carlos the Jackal denounced that French state is being led by hoodlums and killers.
The lawyer also denounced the brutal aggression against a sovereign country and added that he was ready to defend Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi if he were to be tried by an International Penal Court. Dumas and Verges were speaking at the end of a two-day visit to Libya. They said they would begin legal proceedings against President Nicolas Sarkozy on their return to France.
