60th stage anniversary: ​​The Rolling Stones come to Germany

You’ve been on stage for 60 years – and you want to be celebrated for it. The Rolling Stones are touring again and are also coming to Germany. The dates are already set.

“Satisfaction” for all Stones fans, because: The stones just keep rolling. To mark their 60th band anniversary, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Co. will be touring Europe this summer. The legendary rock band confirmed corresponding rumors on Monday.

“We are delighted to announce the Rolling Stones 2022 Tour,” the Stones said on Twitter. Among the 14 shows of the “Sixty” tour are two concerts in Germany. On June 5th the sprightly rockers will be performing in the Olympic Stadium in Munich, on July 27th they will be in Gelsenkirchen in the Veltins Arena.

The Rolling Stones gave their very first concert on July 12, 1962 at the now closed Marquee Club in London. “We don’t let 60 years go by without doing something,” guitarist Keith Richards, now 78, recently told the German Press Agency in London.

Stones 2022: Tour highlights planned in London

The band will play the British capital twice on their “Sixty” tour, which begins in Madrid and ends in Stockholm. Huge concerts are planned in London’s Hyde Park in June and July.

Of the original lineup that performed at the Marquee Club, only 78-year-old frontman Jagger and guitarist Richards remain. Guitarist Ronnie Wood, now 74 years old, has been a permanent member of the Rolling Stones since 1975. After the death of longtime drummer Charlie Watts last year, US drummer Steve Jordan took over his post. At 57, he is by far the youngest musician in the rock quartet.
