30 people were injured in a bus accident on Bautzner Strasse in Dresden this morning. At least two of them seriously, a fire department spokesman said. Initially, 25 people were said to have been injured. A large street tree also fell at the scene of the accident.
According to current findings, a bus serving as a rail replacement for tram line 11 left the road between Albertplatz and Rothenburger Strasse, collided with a parked delivery van and came to a stop on the van. The cause is unclear. Bautzner Strasse is completely closed between Hoyerswerdaer Strasse and Albertplatz. According to emergency services, rescue work will take several hours. All of the injured people were in the bus.
The Dresden transport company announced that the replacement buses for line 11 would be diverted in both directions between Albertplatz and Waldschlößchen via Bischofsweg, Stauffenbergallee and Marienallee. The trams on line 6 will therefore run via Schweriner Straße, Postplatz, Altmarkt, Straßburger Platz and Comeniusplatz.
At the beginning of the year, a bus on the same line had an accident. It had driven into a bakery.
