Two local employees of United Nations were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Saturday.
Islamabad, April 19/Nationalturk – In yet another incident of abduction, unidentified gunmen abducted two local employees of United Nations from Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Saturday.
Police officials said unknown gunmen abducted UN staffers, identified as Sami Nawaz and Farrukh Saleem, from a car in Gulshan e Maymar area of port city of Karachi in Pakistan’s Sindh province.
They said no contact could be established with the abducted employees as their cell phones were switched off.
‘Manhunt launched to track abductors’
Official said police and security forces have launched a manhunt to track down the abductors and recover the abducted UN employees.
“We talked to the people present in the area when the abduction took place. Besides, we also watching CCTV footage to identify the abductors and the route which they took place after abducting the UN employees,” they said.
They said search operations are going on.
No militant group has claimed responsibility for the abduction so far.
