13 policemen were killed and 40 others injured, some of them critically, in a Suspected suicide bombing near a police bus in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi.

Islamabad, Feb 13/Nationalturk – At least 13 policemen were killed and 40 others injured in a bombing near a police bus in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Thursday morning.

A police official said an explosive-laden car hit the bus near police Razzaqabad police training college in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town in Sindh province of Pakistan early this morning.

“About 50-55 policeman had boarded the bus and going for duty from their training center. The police bus was making a U-turn after leaving a training center when it struck a small van, “he said.

He said the police vehicle was completely destroyed in the bombing and 13 policeman killed and over 40 injured. The policeman injured were evacuated to nearby hospitals. The doctors have termed condition of some of the injured as “life threatening”.

Police fears it was a suicide bombing

The official said they fear it was a suicide bombing. “According to initial investigation, 15 to 20 kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast.”

Immediately after the bombing, police and paramilitary Rangers laid siege around the area and Launched a combing operation.

Pakistani newspaper, The News quoted a police officer as saying that SSP Malir Rao Anwaar EVIDENCES indicate that a suicide bomber had rammed the explosives-laden vehicle into the police van.

“However the police is Investigating the matter to ascertain the facts,” he said.

No terrorist group has so far stiking Responsibility for the bombing, which was drawn by Widespread Condemnation.
