Pakistani Officials have confirmed that a suicide bomber has killed an anti Taliban lawmaker while he was receiving guests at his house in Swat Valley.
The Swat Valley police chief Qazi Farooq and hospital officials say lawmaker Shamsher Khan was killed by the suicide bomber when the attacker struck the reception room at his house in Deri Kili in the Kanju area. 8 others were injured in the blasts.
PO Qazi Farooq Khan said, the brother of MPA is critically wounded in the deadly attack.“The legislator was exchanging eid greetings with his electorates when the bomber came in a flash and ripped through the hujra, killing Dr Shamsher Ali Khan and injured eight others,”
The NWFP Information Minister Mian Ifitkhar Hussain has condemned the attacks and said “Our Jehad against militants and terrorists would continue till the complete elimination.”
Tuesday’s attack comes months after a military push into the northwestern territory that was declared a success. The situation has been relatively peaceful since the offensive but sporadic violence continues, underscoring the difficulties the army faces.
