Huge fire has started in a high-rise building in Fulya neighboorhood an intersection point between Besiktas and Sisli districts in Istanbul.

Video footage show black smoke rising from the 42-storey Polat Towers. Polat Towers is a luxury that residential high-tower and partly occupied by shops and commerce spaces. Firefighters from many nearby municipalities rushed to the area and are trying hard to contain the collasal fire.

Althouh there is no immediate reports on any casualties, many residents in the burning tower are reported to be trapped inside. Debris is falling from the towers.

Two gas stations located nearby are being evacuated as security measures. A hospital is suffering from thick smoke billowing into the air from the burning residential and commercial tower.

(Reuters) – A large fire broke out in a 42-storey tower block in a central Istanbul district on Tuesday, sending r but there was no immediate reports of casualties.

Live footage on Turkish televisions show the tower, which is made up of residential apartments and offices, engulfed in black smoke with pieces of burning debris crashing to the ground below as fire crews from all corners of Istanbul fight the fire.

Many celebrities are among the residents in the burning Polat Tower in Istanbul.
